John Hagee: God Is Angry About Obama’s Re-Election

According to fundamentalist mega-church pastor John Hagee, “God will hold America responsible” for not electing Mitt Romney.

Hagee rattles off the normal list of political sins: gay marriage, abortion, and socialism. But it seems to be that last one that really sticks in his crawl.

Sure, the early church may have sold all their possessions and shared everything in common, but if anyone messes with John Hagee’s 401K they will apparently have hell to pay.

Is it just me or are these sorts of political preachers finally beginning to lose some steam?

Obviously, their rhetoric is as bombastic as ever, but I don’t think as many people are listening.

At least, that’s what the election seems to indicate.

Romney didn’t lose because evangelicals are now a minority in America and no longer have the numbers to sway an election.

Romney lost because evangelicals voted for the other guy.

In other words, evangelicals stopped listening to the never ending parade of chicken little sermons about the fall of America and the impending judgment of God if they didn’t vote for the right candidate.

Sure those guys and their followers are still around and probably always be around, but I think we may be witnessing a beginning of a decline in their influence.

At least, that seems to me like it might be the case.

I hope I’m right.

I dont think it is so much that evangelicals voted for the other guy. It seems more like the zealots chased off all the moderates to the other guy. And left evangelicals in general looking like the bad guys. And Hagee is not helping the matter. Far too many people are starting to associate Christianity in general with the likes of Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, KS.

Every time these hate filled old men open their mouths, they scare more people away. I imagine they spent alot of time praying that God would put the right man in the white house. I guess they don’t approve of God’s choice.

The truly dangerous aspect of these messages of hate (other than being completely antithetical to the will of Christ) is that this is the primary image that non-Christians in America have OF Christ. Basically, Hagee and others like him are what people think Christianity is all about.

i once heard it said “You can tell you’ve created God in your own image when it turns out he hates the same people you do”. When asked “What would Jesus do?” they reply, “Exactly what I’ve said he would”.
But if you’re looking for someone to blame for your lot in life, they have names.

I’m looking for something smart to say, but as Rob Bell teaches us in Everything is Spiritual about The Marker Trick: ‘Yep’…

I am not sure that you are fact based or correct in your assertions. Abortion, same sex marriage are called out specifically in the Bible..Those are sins against God not a political system. Socialism is a political system that is set up against God, this is not a new concept….Historically, this system is crippling to the economy and often fatal to it’s people. It would behoove all of us to at least read the Bible through once to see what really is expected of us. Think I will, too much talk, not enough fact in what you said.

It is ridiculous that liberal governments in western nations murder their unborn children in huge numbers, then wonder why they cannot sustain their populations. So they fill the gap with mass Third World immigration from countries that are completely, culturally incompatible with the West. You think that Christian preachers like Hagee are the problem?

Today we see Muslim gangs beating up gays in the streets of Amsterdam, Europe’s most liberal city, storming gay bars in London and beating up the patrons, huge gangs of Muslim “youths” torching neighbourhoods in Paris and Grenoble, Christian preachers being roughed up and arrested in Deerborn, Michigan, which has a huge Arab-Muslim population, and public schools in Toronto, Canada, that are now accommodating Muslim prayer sessions when all other religions are forbidden. Now there are city blocks in London and Paris that are closed to the public during Muslim prayers.

@ Crystal, Christians are the least of your problems, sweetie pie. John Hagee comes from a generation that did not allow naked homosexuals & lesbians to parade through our streets, or “transgendered” men to use women’s changing rooms, or facilitate the murder millions of unborn children to the point that we cannot sustain our population without mass immigration.

We have sown the wind and we are now reaping the whirwind.

One day you will regret turning your back on the Bible.

Hagee accepted not only Mitt Romney but also accepted the Mormon Church as an actual Christian Church.
He did not mind one bit that the Mormon book of Abraham chapter 4 tells us how [THE GODS ]created earth
and he forgot to tell his flock that Mormons are not allowed to wear or accept a Christian crosses in there church or how they have a book written by there leader correcting the bible. Anyway this shows you what type of character your dealing with in Hagee one that would sell out his own flock and even his own God for political power and wealth.
